Happy St. Patricks Day everyone!

Hope ya didn't forget to wear green today-
I didn't and paid for it!
We're being really crazy and celebrating with some green smoothies.
We're wild!

It reached 85 degrees yesterday.. can you believe it?!
I'm still in shock.
I was walking Romie and actually said the words, "it's hot."
SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!
And I finally got to wear just a sweater outside-
no winter coat!
I really hope I don't jinx it.. watch it snow next week.

Anywho life's truckin' along and time just keeps flying by!
Only two weeks till I'm visiting AZ again- woot woot.
This past weekend we went on a little trip to Galesburg, IL to see family.
It was so nice visiting, eating {way way wayyyy more than I should have} and just shutting out the world for a couple days.
When we move back to AZ, I'm going to miss being close to that little town.
It's so nice having family in the midwest.

We have to cross the Mississippi River and it's always to exciting to see!

Work was a little crazy last week.
I did a story about a donkey rescue that got lots of attention- good and bad.
Can't get too much into it, but I'm so thankful to have a hubby who helps me through hard times and then has me laughing about those times a few hours later.
And after I came home from work he had dinner and a little fort built in the living room for a much needed movie night sleepover.
I don't know what I'd do without him.
And PS I'm truly thankful for people who open their hearts and homes to animals in need-
we need more of them in this world I tell ya!

This was my stressed face at work. Cute right?! Kidding. 

Oh and I wanna give a quick shoutout to Romie for being the sweetest pup in the whole wide world.
While I'm blogging he's just so content laying in my lap.
I love him.
He's the best fur baby ever.

- I host girls night this week- so look for that post soon!
- I applied for my first AZ job- or at least asked if there were any open positions..
but hey that's a start.
If any people in the journalism world know of job openings.. help a sister out!
- Zak and I have some pretty exciting ideas for the future of this little ole blog..
tell ya about those later on.
- I'm still searching Craigslist daily for places to rent in AZ and they're still all nos. Sooo that's a little stressful.
- We've started a super strict budget and we're determined to stick to it. If you have any money saving tips send them my way!
- My hair is long enough to put in a pony without bobby pins! It's a miracle! But now it's in this in-between short and medium length and it's tempting me to cut it again.
- If anyone wants to do some blog collaborations let me know.. I'm in the creative mood!
- I've been thinking a lot about planning a baby shower lately- and no I'm NOT pregnant. Just thoughts! :)
- We got a new Wal Mart by our house and it's made grocery shopping MUCH better. Thank heavens for clean Wal Marts.
- I bought a bunch of reusable shopping bags that also make grocery shopping that much better.
- I have to miss this weeks married to medicine ice cream sundae party and I'm bummed. How good does ice cream sound right now!?
- I got my butt kicked in spin class today.
- Afterwards I went to the dollar store and found some great stuff for girls night and Easter- score!
- My day off is almost over so I'm trying not to look at the clock and notice it's already 6:15- where has the day gone?!
- And Zak is gunna take a little dinner break from studying now so it's my time to sign off!

Happy Monday people!

Romie didn't want to get out of bed this morning.. 

So I hope you've had a more energized morning than he has!

Today is kinda my "Sunday" in the TV world, since I go back to work tomorrow. 

I somehow got up and went to spin class without thinking myself out of it.

Am I the only person who literally lists excuses of why I "don't need to go"  to the gym before working out?!

Last week I had a bunch of those days, and I'm determined not to have too many this week.

It's going to be a crazy week at work- 

lots of corporate meetings and all that good stuff. 

So I'm kinda gearing myself up for that-

I have a case of diet 7-Ups waiting to be packed in my lunch bag.

They've been my guilty pleasures lately.

They're so tasty!

And no caffein- which I'm trying to avoid!

Anywho.

Our weekend was full of friends, Netflix, cuddle sessions, reading and baking. 

Lots of baking. 

I blame the cold weather for my need to bake-

it's like snow just makes ya wanna stay inside, light some candles, do some baking, watching movies and ignore that it's 7 degrees outside. 

I will kinda maybe miss these cold days when we're in AZ.

Maybe. 

I really wanted to bake one HUGE cookie. It didn't really pan out. Dang you Pinterest. 

But I ate it anyways.  

Worth it. 

And then the next day I felt the need to bake a couple dozen of regular sized cookies. So good.

Oh and pizza was in our plans too. 

So yeah we've just been hibernating. 

We've made it a point to hangout with our group of friends here as much as possible..

since we only have THREE months left!

Holy moly!

So we pretty much have dinner and game night every Saturday.

I'm certainly going to miss it. 

I pray that we transition back to AZ well, and that we have a great group of good people to spend time with like we do here. 

It sounds silly, since we're from AZ and know lots of people.

But everyone's so busy these days it can be hard getting everyone together,

but I hope we can make it work.

Anddd I'm still hunting for a place to live when we get back to AZ.

So if anyone knows of some great rentals in Mesa or Tempe- help a girl out!

I just keep searching Craigslist.. and I'm getting nowhere.

Help!

But back to the ONLY THREE MONTHS LEFT IN OMAHA sentence.

Can you believe it?!

Because I can't. 

A big chapter of our life will be ending.

 I think we'll always look at Omaha as our "newlywed" years.

Even though we want every year to feel like we're newlyweds. 

Its been just the two of us and Romie in our own little world.

For us, being away from family, friends and the familiar was challenging,

but also the biggest blessing. 

We've grown so so much. 

Our relationship keeps getting stronger. 

We somehow get closer and closer. 

I always think that isn't possible after being together for almost 7 years.. 

but we keep just falling deeper and deeper in love. 

Going back to Arizona will be a new chapter in our life. 

Hopefully full of new beginnings.

I can't wait!

We always said we wanted to travel and live in different places- 

and that wish came through! 

We'll have lived in 3 states in 2 years. 

Counting our blessings we get to go back to the Valley this summer!

Anywho- Romie and I are going to go embrace the cold and head out for a walk-

and the hubs just home so I'm gunna sign off!

Just thought I'd recap this crazy crazy week.

First I got called into work while I was literally in spin class-

so yeah I was struggling and seemed like a mad woman rushing to work..

not a good way to start the week.

Then we had a HUGE snowstorm that no one was expecting.

Like so bad I went into work and the power was out, type of bad. 

Oh and it was on Super Bowl Sunday, at the start of sweeps 

{that's what they call a ratings period in TV- count how many viewers you have}

sooo it. was. insane.

what the newsroom looked like when I arrived.. like a scary movie. 

I somehow survived though, and managed to still make it to the gym each day-

I'm trying really really hard to stick to my goals!

It snowed yet again half way through the week..

he's such a gent. :)

But this time it was a little better because Zak's classes were rescheduled and I was off of work so we hunkered down in the apartment and had a cozy day inside.

Oh and I made dinner two nights in a row,

woot woot. 

And we had a little smoothie/TV binge/dollar store date night in the snow storm too,

so that was fun.

But then Zak's car wouldn't start because it was so cold..

yikes. 

Romie finally walked through the snow!

He's a real snow dog now!

He's been scared of it ever since we moved here, but now that the temps are in the 30's he ventured through it yesterday and it was the cutest thing ever.

I'm such a dog mom. 

So all in all snow is pretty

 but, makes life a little crazy. 

Hope it's warmer where you are!

And the ground isn't covered in snirt!

honeymoon film.

Aloha!

I know, i know. We went on our honeymoon, like several months ago. But the video we made of our trip got deleted off my old lap top, and I was able to re-do it on my new one.. so I had to post it! Looking through all these clips is making me miss island life real bad. Goodness gracious it was beautiful! Absolutely breathtaking. Hands down the best vacation of my life. 

Maybe one day I'll get around to posting our photos.

Anywho, we're having a watching-Breaking-Bad-and-eating-dinner-on-the-couch-kinda-Friday night. It's a really good kinda Friday night.

happy birthday husband.

My babe turned 23 yesterday! 

It's blast being married and celebrating together. We started the day off with a big birthday breakfast. You know the whole works- pancakes, bacon and eggs! Mmm it was pretty delish. Oh and he opened his presents of course.

I just love spoiling him. 

He scored tickets to an upcoming concert he'd been wanting to attend!

 Afterwards I had to go to a little interview (ps I have some exciting news, I'll have to tell you about soon) and then Zak headed off to class. 

When he got home we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Rojas and enjoyed a nice helping of chips and salsa. My favorite! And Zak's too. 

Well when we got home I had a little dessert party planned but someone (cough cough Zakary) passed out at 6:30 pm. I think it's safe to say medical school is exhausting. I know I say it all the time, but I don't know how he does it! 

I took some pictures yesterday, but they're on Zak's phone.. and he's at school.. so here are some of my favorites that I do have on hand.

happy fall.

It's officially fall! 

And it really feels like it too.

I'm so excited to see the leaves change color and experience the different seasons. In Arizona you don't really get four seasons it's more like summer and winter. The temperature in Omaha has been dipping into the 60's and 70's, it's so nice! Such a refreshing change.

This weekend was great! How was yours? 

We tried out a sushi place in Old Market with the Married 2 Medicine gang, and it was delicious! I love that our M2M get-togethers are at fun eateries, because it makes Zak and I eat outside our comfort zone. I swear if we had it our way we would eat at Roja or Red Robin for every meal. Afterwards a few couples went and played Cards Against Humanity. Neither of us had ever played before and let me tell you, it's the inappropriate version of Apples to Apples. But hilariously funny. It's such a bad game though, totally for adults only. Not a game you'd wanna play with kiddos!

Saturday and Sunday were very relaxed. I ran a few errands as Zak studied and we ended it by watching the Emmys. Did you watch it? Zak wasn't too impressed, but I enjoyed it! We both liked the opening act and I just loved seeing the different gowns that celebs wore on the red carpet. 

Anywho, tomorrow is Zak's birthday! I can't wait. He has school for the majority of the day, but I still have some fun things planned for him. I'll make sure and take lots of photos!

Dear June 1st, 2013,

You just couldn't be real. You seemed like an absolute dream. A beautiful and just lovely dream. We still can't thank everyone enough for celebrating with us on the best day of our lives. It was splendid, it was magical, it was perfect. I'm still a little speechless at these photos, so I'm just going to let them speak for themselves.
