a day on coronado island.

Hi sweets!
Hope you're have a lovely Friday-
any exciting plans for the weekend?!
Ours involve Halloween decorating, pumpkin bread baking and fall bucket-list making!
You know we obsess over the holidays.. and fall is finally here!
Woot woot!
Anywho, I just wanted to share our day trip we took to Coronado Island last week.
It's one of our favorite places to visit while in San Diego-
we always try to make it out there whenever we can.
Other than the famous Hotel Del, the houses are my favorite part!
So. Dreamy.
Like this one above!
The little white picked fence and black and white awning give me heart eyes!
But in true Hambsch fashion, our first stop was to grab some grub.

We went to Burger Lounge, and my goodness!
It. Was. Delicious.
My turkey burger was unreal.
What I would give to have it right now.

These days eating out involves a game of hot potato with Liam while the other stuffs their face!
He's in that, I want to grab anything and everything, but he's too little for a high chair so we both take turns holding him and distracting him from snagging a fry!

Afterwards our plan was to head to the Del and then hangout on the beach all afternoon-
But!
Of course the one day Zak has off, it was pouring!
So the beach was scratched off our fun list.
But dangit I wasn't going to let the rain ruin house hunting!
We bought an umbrella and braced what we thought might clear up and took a stroll through the neighborhood.
Hence quick.
The light rain turned heavy, so we darted for dessert aka Sidney has to eat something sweet after every meal and we hung out in the car, in hopes that the rain would go away!

Spoiler alert: it didn't go away!
However, even though the rain rained on our parade, we made the most of it and had a blast in the car, driving around looking at all the houses.
So. Pretty.
Oh!
And we gave Liam his first bite of vanilla froyo.
He obvi loved it.
I think he has my sweet tooth!
We ended the day back at home, snuggled up watching a movie and listening to the rain.
It was pretty perfect.

I also wanted to talk about the top and these sunnies I wore on our little adventure!
I'm obsessed with the top-
not only because it's my fav blush color, but because it's super nursing friendly and the perfect flowy blouse to wear beachside.
My sweet friend Brooke just opened this new online boutique and you totally gotta check it out!
Her clothing and accessories are darling!
You know I don't share items on here I don't whole heartedly adore!

And good news!
Right now you can even get 20% off using the discount code-
"Newlywed Diaries"
I totally re-wore the top again on another little outing of ours, and I'll probably re-wear it yet again this weekend.
Yep!
You heard me right.

Thanks Maudern The Label for making this mama feel purdy!
And thanks to my hubs for spoiling me with lots of beach dates-
they were the best!

Hope you enjoy some shopping loves!

xoxo

turning 26.

Hey everyone!
I'm 26!!
Can you believe it!?
Because I sure can't.
I'm closer to 30 than 20-
WHAT?
Even though it's kinda crazy, I'm really trying not to dwell on being older and more embrace this new chapter of our lives.
This past year has been the best time and I want to continue living out my twenties reaching goals, chasing dreams, building our little family and living life to the fullest!
This season of life is so magical and sweet.
It makes me heart the happiest.
And if it's any indicator on what's to come, I can't freaking wait.
Anywho, back to my birthdayyyyy!!
We started the morning off with breakfast and coffee with an ocean view!

PS I've been so obsessed with oatmeal and rye toast for like 3 months!
I don't know why, but I love it so much lol.
Just thought I'd let yah know.
After snuggles on the patio we got ready and decided to go walk and check out the little shops downtown.

If you know me well, you know I love antiquing and looking at home decor.
Two passions of mine!
And OB has lots of gems that we got to check out.

Another love of mine is acai bowls and house hunting.
And we combined the two and it was perfect.
PS this bowl was one of the best I've ever had-
the amount of fruit on this puppy was unreal.

After a few shops we walked back to our beach bungalow-
but not before strolling through the neighborhood checking out all the little homes.
Anyone else love looking at homes?!
I get so much inspiration from it!
And Zak is so patient, I can't tell you how many times he's taking me walking or driving through neighborhoods to look at dreamy houses.

We got back home and decided to make lunch and hangout by the water.
The weather was perfect and we wanted to spend all our time outside soaking it up!

Haha then we decided to cook..
and Zak was so sweet and baked me a birthday cake!!
Like, he's the sweetest.
And a really good baker might I add!
But then I went and tried to transfer it to a cute little dish and ruined the whole thing.
Way to go Sid.
We still ate it though.
I mean, you can't waste chocolate cake.

These two!
Make me the happiest.

Liam loved watching the waves, and would get transfixed looking at the ocean.
Seeing the world through his eyes is unreal.

My pretty mama!
Thank you for spoiling us!!
Toward the end of the afternoon my mom took Liam so Zak and I got a little sunset date.

Guys.
We hadn't been on a solo date in like TWO months!!
To be fair, Zak has been gone for two months, but still.
It was soooooooo nice getting some one on one time with my best friend.

We adventured down to the coves and walked along with water while the waves crashed!
It was very romantic until we learned that the cliffs are also a perfect spot for teeny boppers to hangout-
sooo we headed back up to our beach house and made a little picnic instead lol.

Flowers are my love language!!
Gimme all the pink ones please!!

The sunset was kinda unreal.

We hung out and talked and watched the sunset and it was perfect.
This guy makes all my dreams come true and I'm the luckiest to have him by my side!

After a few hours we went back inside and got Liam and my mom so we could all watch the sunset one last time.
Look at his little smile!
Kills me.

He also wasn't too sure about the rose pedals.
One day though, his dad will teach him that rose pedals and being romantic and a gentleman are the way to his loves heart!
Too soon?!

I still can't believe this goofy, chubby, happy, smiley, funny, lovey baby is ours!!!!!!!!!

And this pic is def going in a frame.
One of my favorites!!
Babies in diapies are the best.

Thank you again mom and Zak and Liam for spoiling me!!
It was literally the best birthday I've ever ever had.
I'll always cherish these memories!
Can't wait to see what else 26 holds!!!
PS check out the next post
for more pics from that weekend!
Ah so good it needed two posts.
Yep, that's right!
:)

my birthday weekend.

Hello!
Sooooo my birthday weekend-
aka the perfect weekend.
Hands down the best birthday I've ever had!
And it wasn't because of gifts or vacations-
it was because who I was with.
We laughed, relaxed, made memories, ate lots of food, talked and really had the best time being together.
Everyone was happy and healthy-
which is the biggest blessing!
I love my little family so dang much, and I was thrilled to have my mom with us that weekend too!
But!
I do need to give a little shout-out to my mom especially for spoiling all three of us!

They surprised me with these beachside condo.. and I was over the moon!

I mean, look at that view!
We were in paradise.

The very first night Zak was on call at the hospital so my mom and I stayed in and planned out all the cooking for the weekend-
the kitchen in this place was so cute and we couldn't wait to make some fun dishes for everyone!
The patio was also our favorite part so we couldn't wait to have eat with some pretty views.

Our condo was seriously darling!
Every little detail was adorable.
From the game board table in our bedroom, to the classic baby toys that were left out for Liam-
it was all picture perfect!

It was a Tommy Bahama theme, and we totally felt like we were Cali locals lol living in a dreamy beach house.
If only that was our everyday home!

Each morning we'd have mandatory breakfast and coffee on the patio-
nothing, and I mean nothing is better than waking up to breakfast with a view.
It's the best way to start yah day I learned!

Sorry Liam, you'll have pancakes one day!

Later on we hangout by the cliffs and then had lunch with more family!
I would have pictures of the whole afternoon...
but remember someone STOLE MY CAMERA.
So just pretend you see yummy Mexican food, complete with homemade nachos and enchiladas.
And a game of Settlers of Catan.
We were introduced to thet game that weekend and have been playing like, every other night since!

Ah having a grandma around is the best!
Not only because she's the best company.. but it also means an in home sitter!
Thanks mom for loving on Liam and giving us rookie parents a little break!
Liam sure does love {and miss} his bunny!

After food and games we and watched the sunset.
I love how people in beach communities all gather up around the beach and watch the sunset each night.
It's so sweet to see people enjoying nature.
Sometimes I feel like we don't appreciate things like sunsets enough-
I mean they're stunning!

Afterwards my mom and went on a little frozen yogurt run!
I know who I got my sweet tooth from, that's for sure!
Thankfully there was a little shop only a couple blocks away.
Woot woot.

Here are some more little details from our beach cottage.
I'm still so bummed that I don't have more photos and videos to share from this trip..
okay no more thinking about that!
Anywho- I loved the farm style front door!
And those hibiscus flowers were outta this world.

Such a sweet weekend with the ones I love in a beautiful place.
Counting my blessings and thanking the Lord for this time spend together!

Check out my next post for more birthday pictures and my thoughts about turning TWENTY SIX!
Eeek!

Have an awesome day!

xoxo
