cha cha changes.

Happy Monday!
You guys guess what?
I did a couple things I've never done before....

A. Mama got a pampering night at the salon.
B. I tried out balayage on my hair
C. I drank an XL Diet Coke while getting my hair did and felt like a queen!

All thanks to Gila Rut Salon!
It was heavenly.
I've been really wanting to change up my hair {I always say this and never do!!}
But I took a leap of faith and tried this new coloring technique and I'm in LOVE!
It looks so natural- I'm obsessed!

So long story short- if you're ever thinking of changing things up..
A. Think about it for a few days
B. Only hire the best of the best to do it
C. Go for it girl!
I'm over the moon with the results!
Maybe just maybe I'll go a little darker next time-
who knows?!

Can't thank the ladies and gents over at Gila Rut enough for giving this mama a special night full of massages, hair care and fun!
Seriously, if you're in San Diego, you totally need to check them out!
They have three locations, and are the sweetest.
You can get more info here!
I went in earlier this month to get my makeup done and wrote all about it here if you wanna check it out!
They have all kinds of services!
And actually any SD mamas or papas or anyone should know that all month long Gila Rut is celebrating their 25th anniversary by giving 25 makeovers to the most deserving families at the San Diego Ronald McDonald House!
They're also offering FREE services in exchange for a simple donation all month long! Like $20 for a blowout- woot woot! You can check their IG page here for more details!
So even more reason to book yourself an appointment!
Anywho- just wanted to pop in ans share my new hair photos!
It's always fun changing things up!
Have a lovely Monday!

wife of the year award.

Happy Sunday everyone!
This weekend has been one for the books!

Last night was our date night and man oh man, or should I say muggle oh muggle-
it was a good one!
We've been trying really hard to explore our new city and take advantage of all the fun things to do-
especially for date nights!

And last night was no exception.
It was magical!

The amazingly talented San Diego Symphony played the soundtrack live while we watched the movie under the stars at the Embarcadero Marina South in Downtown SD!

It was so pretty you guys- and Zak was in heaven.
I don't think I've ever seen him so excited about one of our dates.
He was literally fast walking/jogging to our seats!
If you didn't already know, he's a HUGE fan and obvi read all the books as they were published.
But he never got to see this movie in theater, so he was thrilled to experience it all over again-
and with a live orchestra!
The stage was right between Coronado Island and the bay, and then the cityscape and downtown- can you say dreamy!?

You could also bring a blanket and lawn chairs to cuddle up in the grass, or grab seats at a table and have dinner served to yah!
We opted for a gigantic bag of sweet kettle corn and soda-
it was perfect.
There's something for everyone!
Honestly, we highly recommend seeing one of the Bayside Summer Night Specials-
they have all kinds of fun shows going on right now- and all year long!
I promise you won't regret it!

At intermission we were literally looking up the website to see what other movies they were showing-
that's how excited we are to see another concert!

So anywho- you can see all the wonderful San Diego Symphony concerts and shows right here-
I'm telling yah- BEST date night ever!
And especially if your spouse is a HP fan like mine- you might even win wife of the year award!

I also posted tons of fun videos and more photos from last night on my Instagram Stories if you want to see and watch more here!
Thanks so much to the San Diego Symphony for hosting us- we had a grand ole time!
Happy weekend friends!

liam's first valentines day.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I know it's July, but just go with it okay?!
Again, this is my blast from the past blog series that's happening this week!
Sharing all kinds of old pics from holidays and Arizona!
And this happens to be one of my favorite days!

It also happens to be the day before Liam's birthday too!
So February is an extra sweet month full of celebrations!
Also- disclosure:
Zak is very romantic and the best with surprises-
since our very first Valentines Day together when we were just 18, to now, he always blows me away with his creative and sweet gestures!

I mean, look at that!
There were balloons EVERYWHERE!
And little notes and presents attached to each one.
The little love letters were plans for future date nights, family nights and mama pampering nights-
SO NICE!

I love that Liam now gets to see how sweet and romantic his daddy is-
and my hope is that he'll be the same one day too!

We ate donuts, read these beautiful little poems from Zak, hung out and than got ready to spend the day celebrating LOVE!

Our first stop:
Chipotle!
Because we're fancy like that-
and it's our fams favorite!
Plus Liam is obsessed with chips and guac!

Then we headed to Tempe Town Lake to do some boating!
Lol don't know if I'd recommend doing this with a baby..
but it was def an experience lol!

I think we lasted a whole 30 minutes and then called it quits and headed to the pool!

It was a super sweet day filled with LOVE!
And I'm so happy Zak was able to get it off- so we were together allll day long!
After Liam went down, Zak and I grabbed some Mod Pizza, snagged a Netflix movie and had a little date night on the couch as we prepped for our baby's first birthday the next morning!
Oh Valentine's Day, you're always so good to us!

liam's first christmas.

Hello everyone!
And Merry Christmas!
Jk.. kinda.
Remember this week is my blast from the past blog series where I'm doing little flashback posts and sharing some never before seen pics, gasp!
Also known as, I thought I lost all these pics but recently found them so now I'm posting them before I forget!
And how could I not share Liam's first Christmas?!
It was such a sweet day!

We woke up bright and early and let Liam open his very first presents with just the three of us!
He loved his new books, balls and instruments!
That age is so much fun because they're still little babies, but get excited about wrapping paper and new sounds!
I love it.

We were hosting Christmas dinner so Zak and I went ALL OUT on decor!
We decked every nook and cranny and hung lights all around our apartment!
All that was missing was snow!

We were also in charge of the food, but also very thankful for family who stepped in and totally helped out cough cough my sister!

My favorite part about hosting is putting together the table!
The centerpieces, table cloth, plate ware and dishes just make me happy!

While each bunch of family came over we would open presents and hangout, while prepping the rest of that delicious food that I wish I had right about now!

And I'm still missing photos with my side of the family.......
but I promise they were there!
My sister pretty much cooked all day for us lol!
But anywho!
I'm just glad I'm getting around to posting these, even if it's not all of them!
After presents we ate dinner, took turns saying what we were thankful for, played a big game of white elephant and then after majority of people left we stayed and played board games and that terrible Harry Potter jelly bean game {where they're horrid flavors lol} with my sister and the kiddos until we were all beat!
It was a perfect first Christmas for us three and I'm so glad we were surrounded by our loved ones!
So happy Christmas in July everyone!

blast from the past: january life update.

Hi loves!
This week I'm doing a little blast from the past series-
sharing a bunch of personal pics that never quite made it to the blog!
Remember this started as my diary?!
So I love to document all stages of life and didn't want to forget these ones!
Plus it's always fun looking back at photos of Liam- he grows SO much SO fast!
In these he was about 11 months old- one of my favorite ages!
He was crawling like crazy and our chubby sweet babe!

We....
- hung out with friends and family
- went on lots of park dates
- took Liam hiking
- enjoyed the beautiful AZ winter

- had picnics in the park
- went swimming
- played catch
- and watched lots of movies {prepping for the Oscar's!}

- were in awe of the sunsets
- took a million trips to the zoo
- and even went on our first date night with a non family member sitter!!
- and I should also point out it was perfect! We watched La La Land and ate ice cream!

- I had a sweet reunion with a sorority sister who is kicking cancer's butt!
- tried lots of new group fitness classes
- and my sister gave Liam his very first hair cut!

- we went to story time at the library
- and open gym at the gymnasium
- you were loving hanging out with other babies!

- we spent lots of time with your cousins Kai and Kennedy!
- we adventured around Agritopia
- and ate at Joes Farm grill 123123 too many times!

- We went on family Target trips
- And followed them up with going to Barnes and Noble and Chipotle- our favorite!
- We also showed you around ASU and we hiked A Mountain!

- You snuggled with Romie
- still had lots of rolls
- and were the cutest baby in all the land!

- you and daddy were my biggest supporters and would let mama go to the gym and watch Fixer Upper!
- We had lots of family cuddle times
- And played lots and lots in your room!

- you made us the happiest
- and luckiest parents in the whole wide world
- and we love you so much!!

Oh January you were a good one!
So good that I saved yah for the summer time!
I LOVE looking back at these photos and remembering all these sweet moments.

Confession:
I was never good at keeping a baby book, but this blog is kinda like mine, and I love it so much.
