Indecisiveness.

Happy Thursday!
I have the oddest schedule this week and don't go into work till 5 PM today-
no complaints here!
I get to hangout with the husband all day, well kinda, he's working on school stuff.
He starts school on August 11th, which is right around the corner.
I can't even explain to you how nice it's been this summer having him all to myself,
I'm going to be a little bummed when he goes back.
But, everyone says first year of medical school is the worst time wise, so I'm not too worried about our schedule.
This past week I actually had five continuous days off {I have no clue how I lucked out with that}
and it was perfection.
It was just us two, doing whatever we wanted.
No errands, no chores, no worries.
From being served breakfast in bed, day dates to the movies, finishing Divergent {I know we're a little late on that one}, eating at our favorite Mexican food spot, cooking homemade pasta with friends, no social media and just ignoring the outside world and all of our responsibilities, it was pure bliss.
And just what we needed before he starts school again.

It's crazy to think we're already two years into this long process, and there are still so many unknowns.
I mean, for all we know we could be back in Phoenix this time next year {fingers crossed).
And not just unknowns for his schooling, but for my career too.
I constantly go back and forth on what I want to do everyday.
Literally, Zak hears me talk about it daily.
Poor guy.
If someone asked me, "What's your dream job?"
I don't know what I'd say.
It used to be something in the TV news world, but now I'm there and I don't know if it's so dreamy anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy what I do, the people I work with and my station.
It's a really fun job. Stressful, yet fun. And different! Very different.
But there's a tons of other things I want to try too.
I mean, heck I'd love to teach spin classes, work for J Crew, start my own videography production company, become a mom, open an animal shelter, and the list could go on and on and on and on.
Sometimes I don't know if television news is where I want to stay forever, but then other days I don't want to do anything else.
Indecisiveness is horrible!
I change my mind on what I want to do all. the. time.
I do know however, that I'm extremely grateful for a supportive husband that takes all my crazy ideas and helps turn them into realities.
Really, he's the best.
I have some fun thoughts of what I might want to do in the future, but I'm just holding on tight right now to see how my current work life pans out.
Making decisions can be the hardest thing to do sometimes, especially when there are so many unknowns.
I gotta just trust in the Lord's plan and timing. A reminder I need to tell myself everyday.

Found some quotes to try and help my make up my mind {you know, find some cheesy inspiration} on what to do, but I instead just questioned them, whoops.

But what if you love multiple things, how do you choose?!

Well what if I want my family to be the largest part of my life?!

So that means Zak and I should just go runaway to Hawaii and have little beach babies?

xoxo!

visitors.

Hello Hello!
How is it almost August?!
Remember when I was just posting about it being the start of summer break!?
And now it's the end.
Sad face.
Anywho hope you're having a great Tuesday.
Zak's golfing with some buddies, so I figured this was the best time to do a little bloggin.
The last three weeks we've had family in town visiting, it was the best!
It's always fun showing people around Omaha.
And the weather was sunny and 70  each day, so it was the perfect time to be outside exploring with company.

The first person to make out to the ole 'Good Life' {Nebraska's cheesy state motto}, was Zak's mom.
We had a blast showing her around, giving little tours.

We..
 Stopped by Zak's school
 Lunched at Pitch in Dundee
Drove around the Happy Hallow neighborhood {dream houses upon dream houses people}
Went shopping at the Old Market Farmers Market
Hiked the Fontenelle Forest
Hung out around the Missouri River
Took Romie on lots of walks
Cooked homemade dinners
Watched scary movies
And visited for hours!

She's such a great mother in law, and I'm so happy she came to visit us!

PS: since there are so many photos I didn't want to be annoying.. so I posted the rest below, just click "read more"!

independence day.

Happy belated Fourth of July!
Hope yours was filled with fireworks, hot dogs, sunshine and lots of red white and blue!
Mine was not. Haha, but really.
Okay I don't want to sound like the grinch of Independence Day..
But I worked for 10 hours, missed fireworks with my honey and didn't get home till 10:30 PM.
Okay, rant over.
I'm the newbie at work, so I didn't expect it any other way.
Zak was the best, and despite me working, he treated me to a lunch date and I at least got to indulge in a big fat turkey burger and chocolate chip cookie.. before getting called in early to work.
The news never takes a break, I'll tell yah!
Fast forward to July fifth, and my mood gets much better.
We celebrated the fourth on the fifth, since I was absent during the actual holiday,
and it was a blast.
We were so excited to finally be able to host get togethers this summer {since our last place made it impossible to do}.
We had five other families {and two other pups for Romie} come over for a BBQ.
We had food for days- and it was delicious!
Zak grilled me a turkey hotdog, which I haven't had in years.
YEARS. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?!
I was in heaven. They're just so dang good.
It got a little {a lot} humid during the cook out so we all hopped in the pool and relaxed for a couple hours.
Afterwards we hit the sand volleyball court for a few games.
We all sucked, and it was hilarious.
I can't wait to play with everyone again.
We then headed back to our place and everyone ate the remaining food {we really like to eat, and eat a ton when we're all together}
and played Catch Phrase.
Isn't that game the best?!
I'll never get sick of it.
By that time is was already 9:30 {time flies} so everyone headed home.
It was a great day.
We're so blessed to have met such wonderful couples who share our same interests and values in Omaha.
Really, some great people here.
Anywho, these next couple of weeks are going to be packed with FAMILY!
Yep, you heard me right-
we have visitors coming to OMAHA!
Yipee!
Zak's mom gets in tonight, and we're counting down the minutes till she's here-
and then my mom and our niece and nephew get in Sunday,
I'm so giddy I can't take it.
I just want them all here pronto.
Zak and I had a lunch date yesterday that turned into a Target date which turned into getting welcome baskets for everyone, and I can't wait to spoil them all with treats!
We have a ton planned, so just wait for a bunch of blog posts.

Hope you're having a good ole hump day, toodles!

xoxo

PS don't judge my store bought desserts! I was busy.. or lazy, you choose.
