Easter 2014.

What a happy day!
Because of Him I have the most amazing husband and such a lovely life,
which I'm forever grateful for.
Easter is such a wonderful day to reflect and remember what matters most in life.
This year I actually had to work {sad face} so we didn't have time for many Easter activities.
However when I got home late Sunday night I was surprised with the cutest Easter basket filled with fresh flowers and a sweet card.
Inside there were directions to a scavenger hunt.
What a fun and romantic husband, I have.
So I went around the apartment and found my favorite treats!
Zak knows me so well.
Lets just say I have a life's worth of Skinny Cow products now.
No complaints here!
Thanks babe for making my night special, you're the best.
The next day we had time to celebrate together so we dyed some eggs, took Rom on a long walk to soak in spring time, baked some goodies, gave my man his Easter basket and had a game night with friends.
It was an awesome Monday, and a great second Easter.
Oh yeah, and I threw together a little film of our day.
It's nothing fancy. Just something we can look back on someday of our first Easter.
Hope you had a lovely Easter with your loved ones!

Isn't this tree beautiful!?

His & Her baskets.

Big bowls of fresh fruit were part of my treats. Mmm.

My clues that were hung around the apartment.

And the jackpot of Skinny Cows. My obsession.
And below is our little Easter film.

Enjoy!

mom's here.

MY MOM CAME TO OMAHA!
It was the best.
Really.
You guys, I've been able to see my family each month for the past three months-
that's a miracle! And such a blessing.
I'm sad her stay went by so fast, but grateful for our time together.
We did everything and anything touristy!
When she helped us move in July we didn't get to do any fun things really, unless you count unpacking a million boxes fun,  so this time around we wanted to show her the city.
We..
Toured the Joslyn Castle
Ate lunch in Dundee
Walked Romie around Happy Hallow & Memorial Park
Ate dinner in Old Market
Went antiquing
Walked across the Missouri River
Had ice cream at Ted & Wally's
Toured around Creighton's medical campus
Made a beautiful Easter Dinner
Ate way too many sweets
Did some more shopping
Showed her around FOX42
And tried Wheatfields for lunch
window shopped in Old Market
looked at our new place we'll be moving into soon
laughed a lot
had a comfy night-in
and ordered Pizza Hut & Red Boxed a movie as if we were back home in AZ
It was perfect.
And even though she was our guest she still managed to spoil us {and Rom} rotten.
I lucked out with such a wonderful mom.
I hope to be like her when we have kiddos one day.
Love you mom! And miss you even more. '

Come back soon!

I was so sad this came out blurry:(

weekend update: april edition.

Guess what?!
We decided on where we're going to move!
Woot woot.
We had some tough choices, but in the end we found the perfect place for us, and June 6th can't come soon enough!
I'm giddy just thinking of the dinner parties, game nights and BBQ's that we can host this summer!
We could never have anyone over to the place we're at now, so to say we're excited is an understatement.
Anywho, after a long day of searching & making lots of decisions we celebrated with some good food and a little walk around Midtown since the weather was perfect!
But then I think we jinxed ourselves, because the next day it snowed.
SNOWED.
Can you believe it?!
That better have been the last time- fingers crossed.

Best turkey burger.

We went to Cold Stone for the first time in FOREVER. This is also where we had our first kiss many years ago.

I really like food, can't yah tell?

Romie liked the weather too.

Next day, in the snow.
