friends, oscars and thank yous.

I feel like we look super young in this photo! Maybe it's just my crazy hair?

Happy Sunday my friends!
You guys,
this is my first Sunday off in a year in a half!
A YEAR AND A HALF!
And it's Oscar night!
Woot woot.
I love love love love love being able to have the weekend with Zak.
It's been so nice to just have slow long days, not doing too much
and not having to worry about work.
Counting my blessings tonight.
It's the little things that make life awesome.

gotta love blurry iPhone pics.
that is two blurry iPhone pics.

Don't they look like they're playing poker or something intense?
Yesterday we walked Romie, watched some more movies to prep for the Oscars, made enchiladas and then headed to a married to medicine get together.
It was a Mexican food pot luck, and it was so so good.
I wish I had all that food right now.
It's always great getting together with our friends.
They really have become like family.
The past two years they're the ones who we've celebrated big moments with, gone through crazy schedules with, and really spent the most time with since moving to Omaha.
After dinner, the guys went and played games while the wives had girl time.
And then we all stayed up till 10:30 just talking.
We are going to miss these people so much next year.

Ah the Oscars literally just started, and the opening act has already been amazing!
We made our picks,
and fingers crossed Eddie, Rosamund, Imitation Game and J.K. Simmons take it home!
Zak and I love movies.
You could also call it obsessed.
And I love that my husband likes watching these award shows
{and really getting into them} as much as I do.
From going to the movies and watching all these films, to the red carpet gowns, our Oscar ballots and now watching the award show-
we love it all.
My best friend, and husband is pretty amazing.
Oh and we also had a sleepover to watch whiplash, in preparation for tonight.

Oh and I wanted to also say thank you to the people who have watched my puppy mill story.
I keep getting cards in the mail, I got the cutest puppy bouquet and the social media attention it has continued to get makes me so unbelievably happy.
I wanted as many people as possible to watch this story because I wanted to educate people on what our elected officials are allowing to happen in Nebraska, and other states around the country-
and I can truly say I reached my goal.
So thank you.
If you haven't watched it yet, you can do so here.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday night-
I'm going to get back to the Oscars!

oh and ps I'm still going strong on my new years resolutions-
and they're slowly just turing into my everyday habits which is the bomb.com!

house hunting.

Okay Arizona people!
I need help finding the perfect little place to call home this summer.
I know the one pictured above is something out of a Nicholas Sparks novel, and hysterically out of the picture, but it's just too pretty not to share.
Dang you Pinterest!

Anywho.
We're fine doing the apartment thing, we absolutely love where we live now.
But the price of living is way less here, so we know finding the same quality in AZ for the same price is going to be a long shot.

I also want to look at small houses or condos for rent as well.
So with that being said, if anyone has some great recommendations please send them my way!
It's so hard looking via websites, and i'll be heading out this spring to look at places, but I feel like word of mouth works better sometimes.

Shoot I'd even live in this pool house.
hahaha.
But really.

I saw a charming home posted on Instagram a few days ago, and cannot get it out of my head!
Why is it so hard to find an affordable, little historic home in a clean safe neighborhood?
I'm determined to find a great place for us.
So cross your fingers for me!
And send any recs my way!

Hey people!
Hope your Friday night is a little more lively than mine!
Yes, I'm blogging on a Friday night.. shows how crazy my life is.
My poor hubby crashed at about 5:00 tonight and is already sound asleep-
But it's okay, I'm used it by now.
{That may seem like a rude comment if read wrong, but I promise I'm saying it nicely}.
Really, I am.
And I'm actually glad he's asleep by 6 on a Friday night, on my night off-
he's been working his butt off studying to be the best doctor he can be and he deserves to sleep for days!
If you would have asked me how I felt about it this time last year, I would've been bummed.
But, now I understand medical school and understand the medical life.
And I know that he gets up at 4 AM so that he can study all day long and be finished by the time I get home-
and I know if he didn't need to study he wouldn't and he would be at home with me.
And I know that he works so hard for his future patients and for our future family.
And I appreciate that so so so much.
He was certainly born to do this,
and has got a gift to help people.
He makes me so unbelievably proud.
I feel like I say that all the time, yet not enough.
I love this long medical journey we're on together.
It's truly a blessing.
Even the Friday nights when it's just me Romie & Netflix,
or days where we only see each other for 20 minutes,
and especially when you give me a check up or tell me about the cute little babies in the NICU.
It's all a blessing.
I know he probably won't like me talking about him, but I can't help it. :)
I love you so much, best friend.

I know I look crazy with my eyes shut but I LOVE Rom in this photo.

girls night.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Last week it was the first 'married to medicine' girls night-
something I always look forward to!
Our activity of the night was called 'my favorite things,' and I thought it'd be fun to share my list with ya.
Everyone was asked to make a list of 10 things they've fallen in love with:
things you have learned, products you like, tips of any sort-
anything that makes you smile.
Then we each brought with us one thing on our list to exchange with each other,
so everyone left with something special.
I ended up with a beautiful scarf from India that one of the wives bought while traveling this summer with her husband, how cool it that?!
It was a blast.
And a game I totally recommend for girls night-
I mean, who doesn't want to know everyone's beauty secrets, best kept recipes or awesome shopping deals?!
Below is my little list and a few photos from the night.
Enjoy!
Oh and PS they're in no particular order.

1. Anthropolgie Candle: it's the aged silver 'volcano' candle that smells like heaven!
2. Fireworks Over Toccoa by Jeffrey Stepakoff: it's very Notebook-esk and based on a true story, highly recommend!
3. El Basha {Greek restaurant in Omaha- one of my favs}!
4. St. Ives Even & Bright Pink Lemonade & Mandarine Orange body wash- pretty much the reason I shower- it's another product that smells amazing!
5. My Kate Spade 'Mrs' necklace. Enough said.
6. Fake Bake Tanning Lotion- the bees knees! And doesn't make ya look like an Umpa Lumpa.
7. VSCO Cam for editing Instagram pics.
8. A large Diet Sprite with a Diet Cherry add-in from Sonic- Mmmmm caffeine free and zero calories!
9. The blog, lovetaza- my favorite online read.
10. The note tradition that Zak and I do- each day we write each other a little note, whether it's an accomplishment, funny story, love note or whatever then we put it in a jar with the date on it. Finally on NYE we read all of them aloud and reflect on the year- it's the sweetest tradition ever, and something that I will always cherish.

This is only some of the group- but let me tell you, these ladies have been such a blessing in my life.
When our husbands are studying from 6am-8pm everyday it can get pretty lonely,
and I can always count on them for company.
From shopping trips, to lunch dates and just hanging out and making dinner these girls have been such a wonderful support system,
and I can't thank them enough.

Mmm and they also know how to cook, too!

xoxo
